Whether as a student-athlete, camp participant, collegiate or professional athlete looking to maintain that competitive edge, the school helps discover the strengths in every SAIoneer. Each student is motivated to select a physical activity to ensure mental and physical fitness. The training imparted to the students fundamentally gives an insight into the elementary skills. SAI Sports Academy courses are ideal for anyone who has a desire to succeed in the field of sports whether at the beginning of the career, retraining or adding additional qualifications to continue personal development. The teams of trained coaches, who are strict yet friendly, help in the attainment of personal and team goals.

Activity Rooms

The activity rooms have students experience multiple activities and interactions in small groups. Games, arts/crafts and story sacks are made available as it’s vital for children to experience small group work as well as individual and large group work. This quiet extension provides them the ideal opportunity. The simplest and most obvious activity is to create a list of body movements which increase blood flow throughout the body. The physical education teacher is available to assist where required.

Kitchen & Cafeteria

SIRS serves food for students, cooked in a hygienic kitchen, by an outsourced professional catering service. The menu includes a variety of dishes – North Indian, South Indian, Continental and Chinese cuisines, and sumptuous snacks. The well-lit, ventilated, spacious and insect free dining hall caters to all students and the staff. Faculty members dine with students and supervise their eating habits along with table etiquettes.

SIRS A Green Campus

SAI International Residential School green-campus aims to make environmental awareness and action an intrinsic part of the life and ethos of the children. The initiative mirrors the principles of green-schools and endeavors to extend learning and develop responsible attitudes and commitment to the environment at the school, at home and in the wider community.

Building architecture

The SIRS building is one that is in harmony with natural features and resources. Enhanced ventilation in classrooms not only reduces health issues (minimizing respiratory and other environmental illnesses) but also improves high indoor air quality. Adequate number of windows allow natural light and interiors in light colors provide a soothing environment. Daylight improves students’ concentration and performance, enhancing the overall learning environment. This reduces use of artificial light thus reducing energy cost.

SIRS uses low emitting materials such as dust free chalks and eco friendly house keeping    materials. Safe cycling paths and sidewalks facilitate green transportation. Use of eco friendly vehicles reduces carbon-dioxide emissions.

Water Recycling:

Waste water management- we use dual plumbing that recycles water and water conserving attachments like low flush toilets and low flow shower heads in order to save water.

Rain water harvesting: SIRS believes in the accumulation and deposition of rainwater for reuse in the premises.

Electricity- Natural light is supplemented with LED and solar panels used both for lighting as well as heating water.

Plantation

At the SIRS campus we have tried to conserve the green belt. Medicinal plants and vegetable garden, using natural manure, is maintained with the involvement of the teachers and students. This leads to a greener community.

Food and Cooking

The school kitchen is carefully planned with different sections for cooking, storage, washing. Adequate safety measures like raised platform for cooking, fire proof material, proper ventilation, drainage and waste disposal have been taken care of. Fuel conservation practices in cooking are adhered to while ensuring the safety, security and storage of ingredients, fuel and cooking devices.  Adequate nutrition is carefully planned through the school menu and hygienic and nutrition preserving cooking practices are followed. The kitchen waste is composted and used in the gardens of the premises.

Noise Level

Good acoustical design enhances sound clarity and limits background noise to protect the speech quality for both students and teachers. At SIRS improved acoustics create a more productive learning environment for children and allows teachers to be heard without straining their voices.

Biodiversity

SIRS believes in conserving the biodiversity through various means. The school has conserved the natural wealth around the premises and actively involves students in working towards enhancing the abundance of nature around us. We have installed recycling bins at multiple strategic points to segregate materials such as glass, paper, cans and plastic. Students enjoy the nature trail and believe in being aware of and caring towards the natural environment they are surrounded with.
