SIRS Hosted Grand Valedictory Session of AFS National Activity “Harmony in Action”

On May 9, 2026, SAI International Residential School, Cuttack, successfully hosted the Valedictory Session of the AFS National Calendar Activity 2026, “Harmony in Action: 60 Minutes to Make a Difference,” conducted virtually. The event marked the culmination of a meaningful nationwide initiative under the AFS India National Activities Calendar 2026–27, bringing together young changemakers from AFS member schools across the country to celebrate kindness, collaboration and community impact.

The session commenced with a warm introduction by the student anchors, followed by a soulful rendition of Guru Paduka Stotram, setting a serene and respectful tone. A vibrant welcome dance video added cultural richness and energy to the occasion. The formal Welcome Address highlighted the vision and purpose of the activity, emphasising the importance of nurturing empathy, harmony and responsible global citizenship through meaningful local actions.

The ceremony also featured the introduction of esteemed judges from diverse professional backgrounds, whose inspiring journeys motivated participants. During the interactive segment, the judges appreciated the creativity, compassion, teamwork and social responsibility reflected in the submissions presented by participating schools. Selected schools shared their experiences and learning outcomes, reflecting how small acts of kindness can collectively create a significant societal impact. A key highlight of the session was the much-awaited Declaration of Results, where outstanding performances were recognised and celebrated.

The valedictory session beautifully reflected the philosophy of “Think Global, Act Local,” a vision strongly upheld by Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, who believed in empowering future leaders to create positive change through compassion, collaboration and global understanding.
