From August 5 to August 12, 2026, the SIRS Indoor Stadium came alive with the energy, excitement and competitive spirit of the Inter-House Badminton Competition 2026. The tournament witnessed an impressive participation of 181 students, comprising 46 girls and 135 boys representing the four houses. With every match bringing its own challenge, the competition provided SAIoneers with an opportunity to demonstrate their skills while embracing the values that define true sporting excellence: discipline, resilience, focus and sportsmanship.

The competition was conducted across three categories, Colts, Junior and Senior, for both Boys and Girls. Junior and Senior Boys also competed in the Doubles category. Following a knockout format, the tournament demanded not only technical ability but also consistency and composure under pressure.

Celebrating the Champions
In Girls’ Singles, Arisha Kejriwal emerged champion in the Colts category, while Aradhya Ghosal secured the Junior title and Shomili Tarway claimed the Senior championship. The Boys’ Singles witnessed Rajveer Patra emerge as the Colts champion, Avirath Mishra take the Junior title and Nitya Patel secure the Senior championship. The Doubles category added another dimension to the competition, highlighting coordination, communication and teamwork. Suryansu Rout and Abeer Mishra emerged champions in Junior Boys’ Doubles, while Sarthak Kundu and Batakrushna Panda claimed the Senior Boys’ Doubles title.

The tournament was a celebration not only of those who stood on the winners’ podium, but of every SAIoneer who stepped onto the court and gave their best. Each rally, recovery and hard-fought point reflected the determination to improve and the courage to compete. As the final matches concluded, the Inter-House Badminton Competition 2026 left behind more than winners and scores. It left behind lessons in teamwork, resilience, discipline and respect, values that extend far beyond the badminton court.

The shuttle may have come to rest, but the spirit of sporting excellence continues to soar.
