“True sporting excellence is built not only on medals, but on the character, courage and perseverance developed through every challenge.” - Anonymous
SAI International Residential School proudly celebrated the commendable performance of its young cricketers at the CBSE Far East Zone (FEZ) Cricket Competition 2026, held from August 23 to 29, 2026. A contingent of 25 talented players represented SIRS across the Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 categories, displaying remarkable commitment, discipline, determination and sporting spirit throughout the competition.
The tournament provided the young athletes with a valuable platform to compete at a high level, test their skills and gain meaningful exposure to competitive cricket. With every match, the SIRS contingent demonstrated the importance of teamwork, perseverance, resilience and respect for the game, embracing both the challenges and learning opportunities that came their way.
The SIRS contingent brought home three proud podium finishes. Tamanna Pattnaik secured the Silver Medal in the Under-19 Girls category, while Tuhin Saha won Silver in the Under-19 Boys category. Bhaskar Sahoo added another achievement by claiming the Bronze Medal in Under-19 Boys.
These three medal finishes mark a significant achievement for SIRS Cricket and reflect the dedication of the players, along with the guidance and sustained efforts invested in developing sporting talent at the school. Their success adds another proud chapter to the sporting legacy of SAI International Residential School.
Beyond the medals, the participation of all 25 players represented an important learning experience. The Under-14 boys took their first steps on a larger competitive platform, while the senior players challenged themselves at the zonal level. Every member of the contingent contributed to the SIRS sporting journey with enthusiasm, determination and pride.
The experience reinforced the belief that sporting excellence is not defined solely by victories. It is shaped by the ability to remain disciplined, learn from every match, work together, overcome setbacks and continue striving for improvement. These are the qualities that help young athletes grow not only as players, but also as confident and resilient individuals.
SAI International Residential School extends its heartiest congratulations to all the young cricketers for their dedication, perseverance and sporting spirit. The achievements of Tamanna, Tuhin and Bhaskar, along with the collective efforts of the entire contingent, have brought immense pride to the SIRS fraternity.
Play with passion. Compete with courage. Learn with every game. Rise with every challenge.
