While India celebrates its 71st Republic day SIRS celebrated it in all its solemnity and grandeur. The National flag was unfurled by Headmaster Shri Amitabh Agnihotri. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to uphold the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness of India. Guest of Honor Mr Kenneth Joshua inspected the guard of honour. He also took the salute of the Republic Day Parade. The students of all the four houses marched in their colorful uniforms rhythmically to the tunes of the school band.
While addressing the children Headmaster gave tribute to the Nation which celebrates 71st Republic Day. He highlighted the importance of Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties of every citizen of India. Taking into account the current political scenario of the country he said that the Constitution is at crossroads and India is under crises due to various factors and threats and we all need to dispense our Duties sincerely and eagerly.
In the afternoon cultural programme for Republic Day the school echoed with patriotic fervor as the children of Class V onwards danced to the tunes of patriotism, enacted skits, sang patriotic songs, and even wore tri-coloured clothes to mark the occasion in the Astaranga Auditorium.
Chief Guest Mr Kenneth Joshua felicitated the winners of the Science Exhibition and distributed certificate to students who participated in the Design For Change (DFC).
