Special Combined Assembly and Bird Watch Activity Marks National Bird Day at SIRS

On January 5, 2024, SAI International Residential School (SIRS) witnessed a unique celebration as little SAIoneers came together for a Special Combined Assembly and Bird Watch activity in honor of National Bird Day.

National Bird Day, observed on the 5th of January, serves as a reminder to raise awareness about birds captured or bred in captivity for commercial purposes or personal pleasure. Beyond this awareness, spending time in nature has proven benefits for mental health and well-being.

The students of Grades IV and V actively participated in a Nature Walk and Bird Watch activity, seizing the opportunity to relax and momentarily step away from academic stress. Engaging in bird watching allowed them to connect with the outdoors, fostering a sense of calm and a deeper connection with Mother Nature.

This celebration not only aligned with the significance of National Bird Day but also contributed to the overall emotional and psychological well-being of the students. It provided a platform for them to enjoy nature, observe birds in flight, explore nests, and experience the joy and happiness that comes with connecting with the natural world.

As SIRS continues to prioritize holistic education, such activities play a crucial role in shaping students into well-rounded individuals who appreciate the importance of environmental conservation and the positive impact nature has on their lives.

Stay tuned for more updates on our school's initiatives that enrich the learning experience and nurture a love for nature!
