SIRS Students Gain Real-World Insights During Educational Visit to Paradip Port

On 19 July 2025, Class XI students of SAI International Residential School undertook a highly educational visit to Paradip Port, one of India’s largest and most strategically important maritime gateways. The visit was part of the school’s ongoing commitment to experiential learning, designed to expose students to real-world industries and operations beyond the classroom.

During the visit, students engaged in an informative session with maritime officials, who provided an in-depth overview of the port’s operations, vessel movement protocols, and the key role Paradip Port plays in facilitating international trade. Students were taken through vital operational zones, including dry docks and visual jetties, where they learned about import-export systems, cargo handling, and port logistics.

The interactive nature of the visit was evident in the curiosity students displayed through thoughtful questions about channel depth, tugboat manoeuvring, and port management techniques. This hands-on experience not only complemented their academic understanding but also encouraged them to explore career possibilities in the maritime and logistics sectors.

SIRS extends sincere thanks to the Paradip Port Authority for their warm reception and for providing students with an inspiring, knowledge-rich environment. The visit left an indelible impression on the young minds, reinforcing the value of experiential education.
