Students of SAI International Residential School proudly joined more than 650 delegates from 14 countries and 23 schools at the grand inauguration of SAIMUN 2026, the 14th edition of the prestigious SAI Model United Nations. The opening ceremony marked the beginning of an enriching journey of diplomacy, leadership, and international collaboration, bringing together young changemakers from across the globe.
The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner, who inspired delegates to become responsible global citizens by embracing negotiation, listening and empathy in addressing contemporary global challenges.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Silpi Sahoo, Chairperson, SAI International Education Group, highlighted SAIMUN's enduring vision of nurturing globally aware leaders through meaningful dialogue and cross-cultural engagement. Her inspiring address encouraged every delegate to participate with curiosity, empathy, and confidence while carrying forward the legacy envisioned by Founder Late Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo.
Representing SAI International Residential School, the student delegates joined peers from across India and around the world in a vibrant multicultural environment dedicated to thoughtful debate, collaborative problem-solving, and diplomatic engagement. Through participation in eleven committees, they will explore diverse global issues while enhancing their analytical thinking, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
