SIRS Cricket Team Plays First-Ever Friendly Match on Professional Turf Pitch

The SAI International Residential School Cricket Team marked a major milestone by participating in a friendly match against the MGM School of Sports, played for the very first time on a professional turf pitch. While MGM emerged victorious with a 97-run win, the match offered an invaluable learning experience for the budding cricketers from SIRS.

MGM batted first and scored 148 runs, displaying strong teamwork and solid technical execution. In response, the SIRS team fought with determination but were bowled out for 51 runs. While the scoreboard favoured MGM, the real victory lay in the valuable lessons learned on and off the field.

Adding to the experience, the SIRS team also toured MGM’s state-of-the-art sports facilities, gaining inspiration and a deeper understanding of high-performance sporting environments. Such friendly fixtures are part of SIRS’s broader goal to nurture not just athletic ability but also sportsmanship, confidence, and a growth mindset. These experiences help lay the foundation for developing well-rounded student athletes who play the game beyond scores.
