Seva Above Self: SIRS Students Honour Unsung Heroes on PM Modi’s Birthday

On September 17, 2025, the campus of SAI International Residential School resonated with emotion and gratitude as students and teachers gathered for a special combined assembly and the screening of the short film “Chalo Jeete Hain”, celebrating the 75th birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The morning began with a heartfelt welcome to the school’s Seva Heroes—the non-teaching staff including gardeners, cafeteria staff, security personnel, and the SAI Care team—who were honoured as Special Guests of Honour. This thoughtful gesture set the tone for a day dedicated to service and appreciation.

The screening of “Chalo Jeete Hain”, a film carrying the profound message of living for others, left a lasting impact on the young SAIoneers. The assembly was further enriched with an interactive session, where students engaged in meaningful conversations with the unsung heroes of the school. Their stories of silent dedication inspired everyone to reflect on the essence of Seva and the power of humility.

One of the most moving moments was the Seva Honouring Ceremony. In a gesture of love and respect, students presented beautifully handcrafted “Thank You” and gratitude cards, created with care, to the unsung heroes through the school leaders. Each card symbolized genuine appreciation and the value of service above self.

The special assembly concluded with a birthday song for the Prime Minister, followed by the National Anthem, dispersal, and a classroom letter-writing activity addressed to the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Through this, students pledged themselves to embody values of service, compassion, and kindness in their daily lives.

The day was not just a commemoration but a powerful reminder that true greatness lies not in ranks or recognition, but in humility, service, and living for others.
