Students from SAI International School and SAI International Residential School, enrolled in Classes IX and XI, participated in a transformative AI internship as part of the Global Immersion Program at AWS (Amazon Web Services) and the National University of Singapore (NUS). This internship, which took place between December 21, 2024, and January 4, 2025, provided students with hands-on experience in the real-world applications of artificial intelligence. Through this unique opportunity, students gained exposure to the cutting-edge work being done at two of the world’s leading institutions, reinforcing SAI International's commitment to delivering a top-tier education.
The internship allowed students to delve into advanced AI tools and services, including Amazon SageMaker and S3 for machine learning and data storage, which accelerated their learning and skill-building. Abadhesh Saran Panda shared insights on how they used SageMaker to simplify model building, training, and deployment, while also learning about scalable storage solutions through S3. The experience also featured interactive TA sessions, which helped students deepen their understanding of the subject matter. Nikunja Bihari Sahu expressed how the internship introduced him to cloud computing and AWS services like EC2, S3, and Lambda, setting the stage for future projects in AI.
One of the highlights of the program was a day spent at Sentosa, where students enjoyed thrilling experiences like the Skyline Luge and Sky Ride, while also exploring the magic of Harry Potter’s world. Ayush Singh recalled the unforgettable adventure, where they not only embraced the adrenaline of the attractions but also capped off the day by showcasing their learning through a mock presentation. The blend of excitement, learning, and bonding created memories that inspired the students to chase their dreams.
