On July 16, 2025, the SAIoneers of Class XI from SAI International Residential School had the enriching opportunity to participate in a Round Square Zoom Postcard hosted by Stiftung Louisenlund, Germany, on the compelling theme “Migration.”
The 90-minute interactive session welcomed over 90 students from 16 esteemed Round Square schools across India and the UAE. Before the event, participants were encouraged to watch a powerful video that sparked initial thoughts and laid the foundation for deeper conversations during the breakout sessions.
Through thoughtful dialogue and collaborative discussions, the young SAIoneers explored migration from both natural and human perspectives. They reflected on the instinctive and essential need to move, whether for survival, better opportunities, or the evolution of species and societies. These explorations were further enriched by a variety of peer insights and global perspectives that emphasised migration as not just a physical journey, but also an emotional, social, and cultural transformation.
The event not only sharpened students' understanding of a complex global issue but also promoted critical thinking, intercultural empathy, and collaborative problem-solving. By participating, SAIoneers demonstrated the spirit of Internationalism and Leadership, key elements of the Round Square IDEALS.
The session served as a powerful reminder that movement and change are integral to growth, both in nature and in human life. The experience left students with a renewed appreciation for the interconnectedness of the world and their role as informed global citizens.
