SAI International Residential School proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of Miththu Kanu of Class XI, who earned the distinguished opportunity to visit the Indian Space Research Organisation after successfully qualifying in the Tata Steel Young Astronomer Talent Search programme. Selected among the top finalists through a rigorous and competitive process that included an astronomy quiz and a model presentation on the Gaganyaan Mission, Miththu’s accomplishment stands as a testament to his dedication, curiosity and scientific aptitude.
As part of this prestigious opportunity, he embarked on an educational exposure visit to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, one of India’s premier space research and launch facilities. During the visit, Miththu explored the Mission Control Centre, launch pads, rocket systems and advanced tracking facilities, gaining invaluable insights into the functioning and future missions of India’s space programme. The experience proved to be both inspiring and transformative, further nurturing his passion for astronomy and reinforcing the spirit of innovation and exploration. It also provided him with a deeper understanding of the technological advancements and collaborative efforts that drive space research in the country.
