SAI International Residential School Students Join Global Dialogue on Empathy and Expression

On May 14, 2025, students from SAI International Residential School took part in an engaging Round Square Zoom Postcard organized by Maria’s Public School in India. Focused on the intriguing theme “Should Empathy Edit our Expression?”, the hour-long session united over 110 students and teachers from 19 respected Round Square schools in India, Kenya, South Africa, and the UAE.

The session served as a vibrant platform for cross-cultural dialogue, where participants explored the complex interplay between emotional sensitivity and freedom of expression. Through insightful breakout room discussions and the sharing of real-world scenarios, students examined how cultural contexts shape individual and collective perspectives on communication, ethics, and expression.

This international engagement not only deepened students' understanding of democratic principles and global citizenship but also highlighted the vital role empathy plays in ethical leadership and meaningful dialogue. Participants were encouraged to reflect on global and regional issues, embracing empathy as a guiding force in navigating differing viewpoints and fostering respectful communication.

The event exemplified the spirit of the Round Square IDEALS—particularly those of Internationalism and Democracy—while equipping students with the critical thinking and communication skills essential for 21st-century leadership.

SAI International Residential School remains committed to providing transformative global experiences that empower students to become thoughtful, empathetic, and responsible global citizens.
