On 22 April 2025, the Eco Club of SAI International Residential School hosted a vibrant and thought-provoking special assembly to commemorate World Earth Day, bringing together students and educators to reflect on the importance of environmental sustainability and collective action.
The event began with a soulful prayer, setting a serene and thoughtful tone for the occasion. This was followed by a melodious welcome song performed by the Symphony Club's talented members, resonating with the spirit of harmony between humanity and nature.
Student leaders took the stage to share the significance of Earth Day, delivering a powerful “Thought of the Day” centered on eco-conscious living. They also introduced the “Word of the Day” to enrich vocabulary with environmental relevance, and presented news updates from national, international, and sports domains, broadening the perspective of the audience.
One of the highlights of the morning was a captivating dance performance by the students that creatively expressed themes of nature and conservation. This artistic segment added colour and rhythm to the celebration while driving home the message of coexistence and environmental care.
A detailed presentation on the journey of the Eco Club was a key moment of the assembly, showcasing the various initiatives and projects undertaken by the students to promote ecological awareness and action within the school community. From campus clean-up drives to tree plantation and waste segregation, the Eco Club's efforts stood as a testament to the power of student-led change.
The students then came together to lead the Earth Day Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to protect and preserve the environment. The assembly was further enriched by an inspiring speech from the Eco Club In-charge, Mr. Sabyasachi, who urged students to take individual responsibility toward sustainable living. Shri Amitabh Agnihotri, Headmaster, SAI International Residential School, also addressed the gathering with words of encouragement, praising the students' efforts and emphasising the importance of continued environmental stewardship.
The event concluded on a high note with a group photograph of all Eco Club members, capturing the spirit of unity and shared purpose. The singing of the National Anthem marked the end of the assembly, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and renewed dedication toward building a greener, more sustainable future.
