SAIoneers once again demonstrated their artistic brilliance and global outlook by actively participating in the prestigious national-level AFS activity, Sinfonietta Classics 2.0, hosted virtually by Aurum The Global School, Haldwani, on 19th April 2025.
Bringing together young minds from 19 AFS network schools across India, the event served as a vibrant celebration of literature and music, seamlessly woven together under the captivating theme “Tales & Tunes: Weaving Magic with Words and Music.” In this unique platform of artistic convergence, our students participated in the creatively conceptualised competition titled “Shakespeare Unscripted: A Melodic Monologue.” This one-of-a-kind event challenged participants to breathe life into Shakespeare’s timeless works by presenting five-minute monologues, enhanced with live instrumental music. The competition aimed to explore the fusion of classical literature with contemporary performance elements, providing students a powerful medium to express themselves beyond the written word.
With passion and preparation, SAIoneers stepped into the shoes of iconic Shakespearean characters, delivering their monologues with dramatic intensity, authentic period costumes, and flawless coordination with background music. More than just a competition, the experience was a masterclass in performing arts synthesis. It provided students with an opportunity to explore Shakespeare’s work through a new lens, while developing critical skills in public speaking, creative interpretation, musical rhythm, and team collaboration. Their engagement reflected not only strong literary understanding but also the ability to connect classical content to modern expressive formats.
Prior to the event, students engaged in brainstorming sessions, script refinement, costume design, and musical arrangement—all of which played a vital role in enhancing the depth and polish of their final performances. The meticulous preparation process cultivated a spirit of teamwork and discipline, key tenets of AFS and the ethos of SAI International Residential School.
Through Sinfonietta Classics 2.0, SAIoneers celebrated the universality of storytelling and the timeless charm of music, showcasing their ability to perform, create, and inspire. Events like these continue to empower students with global perspectives, a deep appreciation for culture, and the confidence to express their unique voices on national and international platforms.
