Founder’s Sports Extravaganza Celebrates Discipline, Unity, and Sporting Excellence

As part of its 8th Founder’s Celebrations, Udaan@100: India Rising, SAI International Residential School organised a grand Founder’s Sports Extravaganza at the SAI International Stadium, showcasing discipline, determination, teamwork, and the true spirit of sportsmanship.

The morning commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Dr. (Maj) Naveen Kumar, Second-in-Command (Medical), NDRF, Cuttack, who was ceremoniously escorted by the school’s equestrian contingent. The programme continued with a warm Welcome Address by the Headmaster, followed by the hoisting of the flag and an impeccably synchronised March Past, judged by CISF personnel. The precision, unity, and pride displayed by the students set a powerful tone for the day.

The Sports Meet was formally declared open by the Chief Guest with the lighting of the torch and the administration of the oath. A vibrant array of track and field events followed, including 110m hurdles, 100m and 200m races, mixed relays, drills, and callisthenics, with enthusiastic participation from students across age categories. Adding to the excitement, parents actively joined the celebrations by competing alongside teachers in the 100m dash for men, the 50m dash for women, and a thrilling Tug of War. The ladies’ team emerged victorious, while the gentlemen’s team finished as runners-up, drawing loud cheers from the audience.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. (Maj) Naveen Kumar delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking message, highlighting the importance of discipline, physical fitness, and reducing dependence on electronic gadgets. His address motivated students to adopt balanced, focused, and healthy lifestyles.

The Awards Ceremony honoured winners of student and parent events, March Past results, and the Best Athletes of the Year. The champions were announced as follows:
Colts: Boys – Rakesh Nayak (Class VI) & Girls – Dibyaleen Sahoo (Class V)
Junior: Boys – Summit Sahu (Class IX) & Girls – Aarya Kansal (Class VII)
Senior: Boys – Askand Singh (Class XI) & Girls – Priyadarshini Bera (Class XI)

In the March Past competition, Dhvaja House secured first position, followed by Srivatsa House, Chakra House, and Vajra House. The celebrations reached a high point when Chakra House (Green) was crowned the Overall Inter-House Sports Champion for the session 2025–26.

The morning concluded with the formal declaration of the closure of the Sports Meet by the Chief Guest, the lowering of the flag, a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by the Deputy Headmaster, and the singing of the National Anthem. The event left behind a resonant message of pride, unity, and excellence, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic education through sports.
