On 22 April 2024, SAIoneers commemorated World Earth Day with the theme “Planet Vs Plastic,” engaging in eco-conscious activities. The day began with assemblies that set the stage for environmental awareness and action. Students from Classes IX to XII actively participated in the AFS ECO Quest Activity, which focused on "Finding Alternatives to Plastics." This hands-on initiative empowered students to explore sustainable solutions to the plastic crisis through three categories. "Art for Action" challenged participants to design posters and craft slogans addressing the theme "Plastic - The Supervillain for Climate!" The "Trash to Art" category encouraged teams to create artwork from discarded plastic waste, promoting creativity and recycling. Lastly, "Terra-Tapestries" showcased sustainable collages integrating plastic disposables and biodegradable alternatives, highlighting environmental consciousness. These activities fostered creativity and a sense of responsibility towards the planet, enriching the Earth Day celebration within the school community at SIRS.
