Cultivating Wellness: Interact Club’s Eco-Conscious Drive Establishes ‘MANAV Medicinal Garden’

On February 1, 2024, the SIRS Interact Club proactively participated in an eco-conscious endeavor, collaborating with IMMT, Bhubaneswar, to conduct a plantation drive for the 'MANAV Medicinal Garden' within the SIRS campus. The foundation for SAI Vanyagyan, the Medicinal Plant Garden at SAI International Residential School, took root with collaborative efforts from the Jigyasa Team of CSIR-IMMT. Led by Mr. Bibhudutta Pradhan, the Public Relations Officer cum Chief Technical Officer of the Jigyasa team, the initiative commenced with the establishment of the Manav Garden, or Human Garden, featuring healing plants like Bhringraj, Anantamul, Brahmi, Tulsi, Guggul, Kalmegh. Mr. Pradhan provided extensive guidance to students throughout the plantation process, elucidating on the uses of the planted species. This hands-on experience not only nurtured an appreciation for medicinal plants but also underscored the school's dedication to fostering environmental consciousness and holistic education. The term "Manav Garden" emphasizes its role as a Human Garden, symbolizing the interconnectedness of healing plants with human well-being.
