SAI International Residential School observed Benjamin Franklin Day on January 17, 2025, with a special combined assembly organized by the Yoga Department. The program paid homage to one of history’s most influential figures, Benjamin Franklin, whose contributions as a scientist, inventor, diplomat, and advocate of self-improvement have left an indelible mark on the world.
The assembly began with a serene morning prayer, setting a reflective tone for the day. This was followed by a segment that highlighted Franklin's remarkable legacy, emphasizing his pioneering discoveries, unwavering commitment to knowledge, and his emphasis on cultivating mindfulness and personal growth. Students were inspired to embody his values and explore the transformative power of education, curiosity, and wellness in their own lives.
A key feature of the celebration was a dynamic yoga demonstration by talented SAIONEERS. Through a series of graceful postures and techniques, students showcased the profound benefits of yoga in fostering physical vitality and mental clarity. The demonstration was followed by a group Pranayama session led by the school’s yoga teacher, guiding participants through breathing techniques that promote relaxation, mindfulness, and inner peace.
Adding to the vibrance of the assembly, updates on international, national, and state news were presented, alongside the word and thought of the day, enriching the students' intellectual and cultural awareness. The event seamlessly blended Franklin’s timeless principles with the school’s holistic approach to education, leaving students inspired to embrace lifelong learning, innovation, and overall well-being.
