A Nourishing Start to the Day: SIRS Celebrates National Avocado Day with Energy and Insight

SAI International Residential School celebrated National Avocado Day with an inspiring and vibrant morning assembly led by the Rhythms and Aerobics Club on 31st July 2025. The celebration was a creative and thoughtful blend of wellness, cultural appreciation, and personal growth, all through the lens of one of nature’s most powerful fruits: the avocado. The assembly opened with a soulful rendition of Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless prayer, setting a serene and reflective tone. Students then introduced the Word of the Day, “Avocuddle,” and a meaningful Thought of the Day that encouraged everyone to be “soft on the inside, tough on the outside, and always holding something valuable at your core.” This beautiful metaphor became the guiding theme of the morning.

One of the key highlights was a high-energy dance performance by the club members, symbolising vitality, movement, and strength, all traits commonly associated with the nutrient-rich avocado. The audience was also treated to an engaging and informative presentation that traced the avocado’s journey from its roots in the Aztec civilisation to its status today as a global superfood, even reaching as far as the International Space Station. The assembly concluded with the National Pledge, leaving the audience feeling energized, inspired, and nourished in mind, body, and soul.

Events like these embody SIRS's commitment to holistic development, wellness, and student-led learning experiences.
