SAI International successfully hosted the 6th edition of the SAI Global Debate 2025 on November 15, bringing together young debaters from across the globe for an intellectually stimulating and culturally enriching experience. This year marked the largest edition to date, with 298 students from 40 schools representing 9 countries, all uniting under one platform to exchange ideas, challenge perspectives, and celebrate global dialogue.
The event opened with great enthusiasm, graced by the esteemed presence of Dr Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner, who delivered an inspiring inaugural address emphasising the role of youth in fostering global citizenship, diplomacy, and meaningful discourse. His words set a powerful tone, encouraging participants to engage with openness, empathy, and intellectual curiosity.
Over the course of two days, students showcased exemplary skills across various debate formats, engaging passionately with contemporary issues while demonstrating exceptional clarity of thought and respect for diverse viewpoints. The forum became a vibrant melting pot of cultures and ideas, embodying the spirit of international collaboration.
The closing ceremony celebrated the remarkable talent displayed throughout the event. In the Argumentative Debate (Junior Category), Aarvi Satpathy of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar secured the first position, followed by Aniketh Shukla from Sunbeam School, Lahartara in second place, and Reyansh Mishra from SAI International School in third place. Special mentions were awarded to Naya Mahieu-Soerensen from Brookhouse School, Runda, Kenya, and Hamza Bin Khurram from Cadet College Hasan Abdal, Pakistan, for their outstanding performances and impactful delivery.
The 6th SAI Global Debate 2025 served as a testament to SAI International’s commitment to nurturing confident speakers, critical thinkers, and future global leaders. As the event concluded, it left behind an inspiring message of unity, dialogue, and the transformative power of young voices coming together from around the world.
