“We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing”. — George Bernard Shaw

The best people are the old and people having the wrinkle of experience with sparkling eyes and at time toothless smile. SAI International Residential School students observed the International Day of Older Persons on Monday, October 1, 2018. On December 14, 1990, the United Nations General Assembly designated October 1, as the International Day of Older Persons. It is believed that by 2050 nearly 2 billion people will be in the old age bracket i.e. in their 60’s in the developing nations across the world. So it becomes important for the younger generations to understand their contribution and help them lead the later part of their life with peace and happiness.

With age, the ability to do different activities decline and they tend to have health disorders and other disabilities more than the younger ones. Children of today need to empathetic and try to spend quality time with them. Spending time with the eladers will only give knowledge of experience

Older people are just like small children who need care, compassion and companionship; SIRS makes sure that children develop such values at a very tender age and develop empathy towards elders.
