Global Immersion Programme to Singapore – Shine in Singapore

  • 18 Oct, 2018

The team of students and teachers on a Global Immersion Programme (GIP) to Singapore visited the famous Marina Bay Sands Sky Park on Thursday, October 18, 2018. Students were mesmerised to explore the place which is a wondrous feat of engineering.  Among others, they had a breath taking view of Singapore from the 56th floor of the iconic building. Their guide for the day, Ms. Joe, shared with them interesting information about Singapore, its history and it’s future.

Thereafter, the team visited the Gardens by the Bay, which is a nature park spanning 101 hectares of reclaimed land. The park is part of a strategy by the Singapore government to transform Singapore from a “Garden City” to a “City in a Garden”. Students loved to see the huge, colourful, futuristic park filled with flowers of various hues and shapes. They were awestruck to see the famous ‘Supertree’ which offers an impressive skywalk over the gardens and over-sized seashell-shaped greenhouses recreating chilly mountain climates. The team spent a lot of time studying the various species of plants and clicking some amazing pictures.

After a quick lunch, they proceed to Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for their final session and the valedictory ceremony of the 3-day workshop. It was a great learning experience at NTU. The SAI team presented Mr. Zong, the facilitator with a SAI Cap as a token of love and appreciation.

The team then proceeded to Bugis’ Junction in the heart of Singapore to do some shopping and had a sumptuous dinner before finally returning to the hotel.
