SAI International Residential School celebrated Fashion Day on 9th July 2026 with great enthusiasm through thoughtfully curated school assemblies organised by Srivatsa House (Girls). The celebration went beyond showcasing style and trends, presenting fashion as a meaningful expression of creativity, culture, confidence, individuality, and responsible self-expression.
The assemblies commenced with an inspiring prayer by Rabindranath Tagore, setting a reflective tone for the programme. Students then presented the Word of the Day, "Elegance," followed by an engaging presentation highlighting the significance of Fashion Day. Informative updates covering national, international, state, sports, and school news added depth to the assembly, making it both educational and engaging.
One of the highlights of the programme was an insightful video presentation tracing the evolution of fashion across civilizations. Students explored how fashion has transformed through different eras while discovering that true style extends beyond changing trends to embrace personality, cultural heritage, sustainability, confidence, and authenticity.
Adding colour and vibrancy to the celebration, the Junior School students delighted the audience with a lively Fashion Ramp Walk. Dressed in a variety of creative and culturally inspired attire, the young SAIoneers confidently walked the ramp with poise, enthusiasm, and charm. Their joyful participation and confident stage presence made the presentation one of the most memorable moments of the assemblies.
The programme reached its most inspiring moment with the address by Associate Director & Headmaster, Mr. Amitabh Agnihotri, who appreciated the sincere efforts of the students and teachers for presenting such a meaningful celebration. He left the gathering with a profound message: "The best fashion is our character. Let us wear it with dignity and pride while preserving the essence of our personality." His words beautifully reminded students that kindness, integrity, humility, and strong values are the finest qualities anyone can possess, and that true elegance is reflected not merely in outward appearance but in one's thoughts, actions, and conduct.
The celebration concluded on a thoughtful and uplifting note, encouraging every SAIoneer to embrace authenticity, celebrate individuality, and uphold values with confidence and grace. By blending creativity with character, Fashion Day at SIRS became a meaningful reminder that the most timeless and elegant fashion statement is a life lived with purpose, compassion, and integrity.
