"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." – Aristotle
On August 16 & 17, 2025, SAI International Residential School proudly hosted a transformative two-day workshop on The Leader in Me framework, conducted by the esteemed resource person, Mr. Praveen Vyas. Held within the vibrant campus, the workshop brought together 21 passionate teachers who immersed themselves in an enriching journey of learning and self-discovery.
The Foundation: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
The Leader in Me, an initiative of Live Life Education Private Limited in collaboration with Franklin Covey, is a globally recognised school improvement model rooted in Stephen Covey’s timeless classic, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
During the sessions, teachers explored each of the seven powerful habits:
· Be Proactive
· Begin with the End in Mind
· Put First Things First
· Think Win-Win
· Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
· Synergize
· Sharpen the Saw
Through these principles, educators discovered not only ways to empower their students but also to enrich their own professional and personal lives.
Interactive Learning for Lasting Impact
The workshop was designed to be dynamic and experiential. Teachers engaged in interactive activities, group discussions, and reflective exercises, which helped them internalise the 7 Habits and visualise their practical applications in classrooms. The sessions emphasised how leadership qualities, character development, and confidence can be nurtured in students when teachers model and integrate these habits into daily teaching.
Building a Culture of Leadership at SIRS
This initiative stands as a testament to the school’s unwavering commitment to its vision of cultivating future-ready leaders. By first empowering its educators with leadership skills and a transformative mindset, SAI International Residential School is ensuring that its students are guided by mentors who inspire, influence, and lead by example. The workshop concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among teachers equipped not just with strategies but with a philosophy of life and leadership that will leave a lasting impact on their students.
At SIRS, leadership begins in the classroom, but its ripple effects extend far beyond.
