On April 15, 2026, SAI International Residential School celebrated World Art Day with great enthusiasm and artistic spirit through a special morning assembly organized by the Art Department and the school’s art club, Different Strokes. The event reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing creativity and encouraging self-expression among students.

The highlight of the assembly was a captivating live painting performance by Smarduti Roy of Class VII. Her confidence and creativity were on full display as she painted live on the dais, transforming a blank canvas into a vibrant expression of imagination. Her artwork left the audience inspired and showcased the power of art in bringing ideas to life.

The assembly also included insightful presentations on the significance of World Art Day, observed globally to honour the legacy of Leonardo da Vinci and to celebrate the importance of artistic expression in human development. Students gained a deeper understanding of how art transcends boundaries and connects people across cultures and generations.

Adding to the celebration, the Art Department conducted a creative activity that encouraged students to explore their imagination and express themselves freely through colours and design. The activity provided a platform for students to experiment, create and showcase their unique perspectives.

The event beautifully demonstrated that art is not just a subject but a powerful medium of expression that nurtures creativity, builds confidence and makes learning meaningful. It was a joyful and enriching experience that highlighted how creativity plays a vital role in holistic education at SIRS.
