WND was first celebrated by the World Nature Organisation (WNO) which is and intergovernmental organization focused on protecting the environment. It was founded in 2010 and came into effect from 2014, it was founded by the African countries and countries surrounded by the Caribbean and the Pacific Ocean; headquartered in Geneva.

SAI International Residential School students observed the International Day of Older Persons on Monday, October 1, 2018. On December 14, 1990, the United Nations General Assembly designated October 1, as the International Day of Older Persons. It is believed that by 2050 nearly 2 billion people will be in the old age bracket i.e. in their 60’s in the developing nations across the world. So it becomes important for the younger generations to understand their contribution and help them lead the later part of their life with peace and happiness.

“An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind.” — Mahatma Gandhi Mahatma Gandhi; Peace Personified; 2nd October is observed as the International Day of Non-Violence. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti the Srivatsa house of SAI International Residential School conducted a special celebration to commemorate two towering personalities: Mahatma Gandhi and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries. To mark the auspicious day they prepared a special session on patriotism and remembered the pre-independence freedom struggle and Mahatma Gandhi’s contribution by his non-violent methods. The students staged a stupendous play and showcased the struggle for independence led by Mahatma Gandhi. They also gave an informative speech on the contribution in nation building of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Bharat Ratna and the second Prime Minister of India.
