Beyond borders and dunes, we discover that the real journey is not about places, but about people, purpose, and the friendships that shape our future.” - Anonymous

DAY 1 (Pre-Conference Day) A Journey of Discovery Begins in Dubai

The exciting journey to the Round Square International Conference (RSIC 2025 – Beyond the Dunes) began with boundless energy, as our SAIoneers immersed themselves in the cultural richness and futuristic wonders of the UAE even before the official proceedings commenced.

The day unfolded with an inspiring visit to the Museum of the Future, where students witnessed ground-breaking innovations and imaginative visions of the year 2071. From AI-driven companions and robotic creations to the conservation of over 2,700 plant and species samples, the experience was both futuristic and thought-provoking, highlighting humanity’s shared responsibility toward sustainability.

A city tour added another dimension, showcasing Dubai’s grandeur through iconic landmarks like the Palm Jumeirah, the spectacular Atlantis, and the magnificent Burj Al Arab, each a testimony to the city’s ambition, creativity, and seamless blend of heritage and modernity.

The evening brought one of the most unforgettable highlights – a desert safari after checking into the hotel. Amidst golden dunes, our students bonded with peers through music, football, and laughter, breaking barriers of language and culture. A traditional Bedouin-style dinner, accompanied by awe-inspiring performances such as the swirling Tanura dance, a thrilling fire show, and fireworks, lit up the night sky, creating an atmosphere of celebration and unity.

DAY 2 (Conference Opening Day) SAIoneers Shine at the Grand Opening

Day 1 of RSIC 2025 will forever remain special as our SAIoneers experienced the magic of the Opening Ceremony and the warmth of global friendships taking shape. The morning carried an air of excitement as students shared laughter over breakfast before heading to the Indian High School (IHS). They were greeted with a red-carpet welcome, flags of participating schools fluttering proudly, and smiles from peers across the globe. The atmosphere was electric, filling our delegates with a sense of belonging to something larger than themselves.

The Opening Ceremony was a vibrant mix of music, performances, and words of inspiration. The keynote address sparked meaningful discussions on leadership, culture, and the shared responsibility of building a better future. For many, it was the first moment they truly felt the power of being part of a global community.

Lunch became another highlight – not just for its flavours but also for the laughter and conversations shared with students from around the world. This spirit of connection carried into the first Baraza Discussions, where our delegates confidently shared reflections and listened deeply to diverse perspectives, discovering both common ground and fresh ideas.

As the sun set, the day closed with joy and relaxation aboard a Dhow Cruise at Marina Harbour. With Dubai’s skyline glowing in the background, students sang in many languages, shared meals, and celebrated cultural diversity.

DAY 3 (Conference Day 2) Embracing the Spirit of Adventure

The second day of the conference was filled with resilience, discovery, and adventure as our SAIoneers in Group Oryx stepped into the Spirit of Adventure Carousel. After a lively coach ride to IHS, delegates gathered for a keynote by Yogacharya Sanjeev Krishna, who spoke on balance, clarity, and leadership priorities. His words deeply resonated, preparing students for both physical and reflective challenges ahead. Baraza activities followed, with symbolic tasks like tying connection threads and responding to real-life leadership scenarios, encouraging critical thinking and teamwork.

Post lunch, students travelled to Wadi Al Shees for the highlight of the day – a 6 km trek. Along the trail, they built pebble structures, traced leaves, created mandalas, explored water sources, and even practised shadow art. The activities tested endurance and creativity while immersing students in nature’s beauty. What began as a challenge soon transformed into a celebration of resilience, curiosity, and togetherness. The evening brought quiet storytelling and bonding over dinner, with laughter and newfound friendships making the day complete. Tired feet but warm hearts marked the close of an unforgettable adventure.

DAY 4 (Conference Day 3) Embracing the Spirit of Environmentalism

Day 3 of the conference was dedicated to the Spirit of Environmentalism, and our SAIoneers embraced it with discipline, enthusiasm, and open minds. At The Millennium School (TMS), students participated in the Climate Fresk Workshop, where they analysed causes, impacts, and solutions of climate change through interactive activities. Guided by facilitators, the exercise instilled a strong sense of urgency and empowerment. The afternoon at Aventura Nature Park deepened this connection with nature. Students engaged in activities such as planting Ghaf tree seeds, crafting natural pesticides, creating sand mandalas, solving scavenger hunts, and practising survival skills.

The day concluded with a lively Cultural Evening at TMS, where performances from delegations filled the stage with colour, music, and dance. It was a vibrant reminder of diversity and unity, leaving students inspired as they returned to their hotels with hearts full of pride and purpose.

DAY 5 (Conference Day 4) Embracing the Spirit of Service

The Spirit of Service came alive on Day 4, teaching humility, empathy, and compassion. The morning began at the Gurudwara in Jebel Ali, where students experienced the Sikh ethos of Seva (selfless service). From cleaning and helping with food stock to serving meals in the Langar, our SAIoneers learned the essence of equality and inclusivity. The warmth of the community left a deep impression, strengthened further by thoughtful gifts from the Gurudwara.

In the afternoon, sessions at GEMS Modern Academy helped students explore empathy through experiential activities that simulated the challenges of differently-abled individuals. These exercises sparked deep reflection and reaffirmed their commitment to inclusivity.

The day ended with the vibrant International Souk and a charity auction, where creativity and service blended seamlessly. The buzzing marketplace, filled with cultural items and laughter, turned into a celebration of unity with purpose.

DAY 6 (Conference Day 5) A Grand Finale of Friendship and Reflection

The final conference day beautifully wrapped up an unforgettable week of global learning. The morning began at the InterContinental Hall with an inspiring keynote, followed by a reflective session that encouraged students to internalise the lessons of leadership, service, and collaboration.

Excitement soon filled the air with a thrilling Treasure Hunt at Festival Mall, where students solved clues, explored the vibrant space, and celebrated teamwork. The trail concluded at Hard Rock Café with lunch, karaoke, music, and dance – an atmosphere of pure celebration and camaraderie.

The evening’s Closing Ceremony was both joyous and emotional. Delegates exchanged goodbyes with new friends, capturing memories in photographs and promising to stay connected. With music, dance, and a festive dinner, the conference concluded on a note of unity and gratitude.

RSIC 2025 was more than a conference – it was a celebration of the Round Square IDEALS, lived fully by our SAIoneers. Enriched with lifelong friendships, strengthened values, and renewed passion, they now carry home memories and lessons that will inspire them forever.
