The 2nd annual athletic meet 2019 commenced on the warm afternoon of December 20, 2019 at the magnificent SAI Sports Stadium of SIRS. The Chief Guest for the event was Shri Arun Bothra, IPS, Chief Executive Officer CESU and MD of MO Bus.
Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo Founder & Mentor with his words of encouragement inspired the children and elaborated on his vision for creating SIRS and its world class stadium, his inspiration were the different countries he travelled to like Japan and China where a fixed time was dedicated to physical fitness and he too dreamed of building a school with fitness as the core. With sports will come personality development, resilience, collaboration, strategy making, discipline, concentration, agility that will lead to holistic development of the children.
While addressing the gathering Shri Bothra said that SAI International Education Group is contributing to the State’s sporting activities and will surely come up with champions and make the state proud. He also stated that SAI Education Group has changed the landscape of education in Odisha.
All the winners of the various competitions were felicitated by Shri Bothra and Dr Sahoo.
Chakra House was declared as the winner of the March Past while Srivatsa House was the runner-up for the same. With a close competition Chakra House was declared as the overall champion with 354 points followed by Srivatsa House with 347 points, Vajra with 292 and Dhvaja at 265 points respectively.
The Sports meet witnessed the sporting events with many track and field events which included, March Past, Aerobics, Yoga Display, races, and many more. Parents were a big sport who participated in races and musical chair with energy on the occasion.
