“Soul of India resides in pluralism and tolerance. This plurality came with assimilation of ideas over centuries. Secularism is a matter of faith for us.” – Dr. Pranab Mukherjee
Class VIII A students of SAI International Residential School held a session on the topic “Proud to be an Indian” on August 6, 2018. August being the month of Independence has its own flavor of patriotism and love for the nation. India is the biggest democracy of the world and a nation with varied cultures and diverse religions.
Students of SIRS performed a patriotic dance depicting the freedom struggle. They also showed a beautiful video on being a proud Indian. India attained freedom from the British Empire after ages of struggle and sacrifice. With a population of more than 1.25 billion it has eighteen different official languages 1632 dialects and numerable casts, sub castes and tribes. Even after such a varied diversity it is one big nation with a growing economy.
It was a patriotic and love for nation moment for the students and the fraternity of SIRS.
