SAI International Residential School hosted its 2nd Founders’ Day “Utkarsh” on Friday, December 20, 2019. The Chief Guest Shri Sudam Marndi, Hon’ble Minister Revenue and Disaster Management, Government of Odisha and Guest of Honour Shri Devi Ranjan Tripathy, MLA, Banki, inaugurated the Founders’ Day in the graced presence of Dr Silpi Sahoo, Vice Chairperson, SAI International Education Group, Education Director, SAI International Education Group, Headmaster, SAI International Residential School and Deputy Headmaster SAI International Residential School.
The theme for 2019 Utkarsh was 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi and a melodious symphony was played by the students of SIRS. After the lighting of the lamp and the welcome speech by the Headmaster, Dr Silpi Sahoo addressed the gathering with her words of wisdom. Dr Sahoo illustrated the value of Guru shishya parampara and how SIRS is living upto the teachings of Gurukul system as a new age global gurukul. She believes that with hard work, diligence, humility, empathy and joy one can reach the pinnacle of success.
Guest of Honour Shri Tripathy congratulated SIRS on being the number 1 school of Odisha and scaling newer heights with every passing year. He also accentuated that Dr Sahoo’s dream of making Odisha a destination for quality education has come alive with SIRS and other institutions of SAI International.
Speaking on this occasion Chief Guest, Shri Marndi said that he was happy to be with the future leaders who are being groomed in Odisha’s number one Co-ed Boarding School. He congratulated the Dr Sahoo to have started a residential School of this stature in Odisha where not only academics are focused on but also other aspects of physical, emotional and also spiritual aspects are also laid stress on.
A well structured cultural programme on the 150 years of Gandhiji was staged by the students of SIRS. There were Odishi Dance, songs, short skit and dance drama all showcasing the theme. The programmes were designed to perfection and the students had put in the best efforts to give the best.
