Under the aegis of the Royal Government of Bhutan, SAI International Residential School (SIRS) commenced the Immersion Training Program with the arrival of a delegation of 30 school sports instructors from the Ministry of Education & Skill Development, Bhutan, on 7 January 2026. The delegation was accorded a warm and traditional welcome with a Tikka ceremony at the MSB Area, reflecting the spirit of cultural respect and collaboration. The program formally began on 8 January 2026 with a welcome address by the Associate Director and Headmaster of SIRS, Mr. Amitabh Agnihotri, who highlighted the importance of global knowledge exchange and capacity building in school sports education.
The first theoretical session was conducted by Dr. Gautam from Sportify, focusing on school sports coaching philosophy and the significance of physical literacy value building. The session provided valuable insights into developing structured, inclusive, and student-centric sports programs. The learning experience transitioned seamlessly into practical application with an on-ground football training demonstration led by the SIRS in-house coach. The Bhutanese instructors actively participated in the session, fostering collaborative learning and the exchange of best practices in sports coaching.
The day concluded with a guided walkthrough of the equestrian facility, offering the delegation a glimpse into SIRS’s integrated approach to sports excellence and holistic education. The inaugural day marked a promising and inspiring beginning to the Immersion Training Program, setting the foundation for meaningful professional growth and international collaboration.
