SAI International Residential School celebrated Children’s Day with immense warmth and enthusiasm on 14 November, commemorating the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who is fondly remembered as Chacha Nehru for his deep affection for children.
The celebrations began with a special combined morning assembly conducted entirely by the teachers, adding a truly heartfelt touch to the occasion. As students entered the Astaranga Auditorium, they were greeted with teeka and enthusiastic claps, creating a vibrant and affectionate welcome that instantly lit up the morning. The assembly commenced with the Anchor and Prayer led by the Headmaster, followed by the Word of the Day—“ecstatic”—beautifully capturing the spirit of joy and excitement. The Thought for the Day encouraged students to “live each moment and preserve every memory before your Bachpan becomes a story,” a message that resonated deeply with all present.
Teacher-presenters delivered the International, National, State, Sports, and SIRS News, keeping students informed and engaged. A lively teaser video added a dash of fun before transitioning into the “About the Day” reflections that highlighted the significance of Children’s Day. Adding to the delight was the segment “Who is the Child?”, which included a heartwarming video titled Doctor & Small Girl, bringing smiles across the auditorium. The assembly concluded with the Pledge led by the Dean of Sports, followed by a warm vote of thanks and a delightful Memories/Outtakes video showcasing joyful moments that touched every heart.
The celebration beautifully captured the wonder, innocence, and boundless energy of childhood, reminding every SAIoneer that they are loved, valued, and deeply cherished. Children’s Day at SIRS was not just an event—it was a celebration of joy, gratitude, and the beautiful journey of growing up.
