SAI International Residential School Celebrates International Olympic Day with Zeal and Zest

In a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and well-being, SAI International Residential School observed International Olympic Day on 23 June 2025 with great enthusiasm and spirit. The day unfolded as a powerful reminder of the values that shape not just athletes but responsible global citizens: Excellence, Friendship, and Respect.

The celebration began on an energetic note with a morning physical fitness session, where students from all grades took part in light exercises and warm-up drills. This engaging start not only promoted physical well-being but also set a lively tone for the day, emphasising the Olympic ideal of staying active and healthy.

Following the fitness session was a thoughtfully curated Special Assembly that brought the essence of the Olympic Games live on campus. The assembly opened with the Word of the Day – Olympism, introducing students to the philosophy that underpins the global sporting movement. The Thought of the Day, “The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part,” served as a profound reflection on the true spirit of participation, perseverance, and fair play.

SAIoneers then came together for the solemn Olympic Oath recitation, pledging to uphold the values of integrity and sportsmanship. The session concluded with a brief yet insightful talk on the history and significance of the Olympic Games, tracing its ancient roots and evolution into the modern global event it is today.

The celebration was more than a tribute to the Olympic Games; it was an inspiration for every SAIoneer to embrace a lifestyle of active living, fair competition, and continuous self-improvement. As the students left the assembly, they carried with them not just knowledge of Olympism but the motivation to play fair, strive for excellence, and build friendships that transcend boundaries, just like true Olympians.
