As quoted above, a new year means reflection, rest and new beginnings. On January 1, 2025, twenty-four students from SAI International Residential School's Classes X and XII participated in a meaningful New Year's trip, which resonated profoundly with the spirit of joy and exploration. To guarantee their safety and guidance during their winter break at the hostel, these students were accompanied by the Headmaster, two teachers, a hostel warden, and a coordinator.
DISCOVERING THE MAGNIFICIENT PEACOCK VALLEY
The journey began with a visit to the beautiful Peacock Valley, located near the Sidheswar Temple in Naraj, Cuttack. This calm, tranquil ambience, accentuated by the bounty of nature, served as a captivating setting for the kids savouring the beauty of nature. The group made lasting memories by engaging in fun activities and appreciating the stunning landscape around them.
A TOUR OF THE INCREDIBLE NARAJ DAM
Next in line for the trip was the amazing Naraj Dam located on the Kathajodi River, which is one of the large tributaries of Mahanadi. The students visited this Man-Made marvel situated on the upper region of the river and were astounded by the breath-taking view of the serene and clear river underneath. The calm atmosphere of the dam region was perfect for peer reflection and companionship.
THE ENCHANTING SUNSET AT RIVERSIDE
The riverbank sunset was the trip's highlight. Students enjoyed the beauty and silence as the sun set, painting the sky in crimson and gold. They established their goals for the upcoming year during this moment of calm.
The students returned from the trip feeling rejuvenated and inspired, prepared to embark on their academic and personal endeavours with newfound vigour. The day's activities gave those getting ready for the impending Board Exams a much-needed confidence and uplift.
The students’ recollections of this trip will serve as a witness to the influence of environment, community, and introspection on the development of young minds as they enter 2025. The SAIoneers will surely always remember this New Year's Day with a special place in their hearts, motivated to pursue excellence in whatever they do, may it be in academics or sports.
