On May 22nd, 2024, the SAIoneers of SIRS made their mark on the global stage by participating in the Round Square Zoom Postcard event titled "Unmuting Our Voices for the Future," hosted by Newcastle Grammar School, Australia.
This groundbreaking event brought together approximately 80 participants from 14 schools across 5 countries worldwide, including Australia, Bangladesh, India, Peru, and South Africa. The 60-minute session, commencing at 7:30 am IST, commenced with a captivating presentation about the host school and an inspiring video on the event's theme.
Following this, participants engaged in an informative Kahoot quiz, setting the stage for dynamic discussions in Baraza groups. These discussion groups delved into how youth aged 12-18 can influence significant issues, the benefits of their involvement, and related societal challenges, with a focus on breaking illogical and damaging stereotypes.
The highlight of the event was the lively and candid interaction among peers from around the world, fostering an environment of free expression and open dialogue. The session concluded with representatives from each Baraza sharing their insights, reflecting the diverse perspectives and experiences of the participants.
