World Water Day

  • 29 Mar, 2019

“Conserve water, conserve life.”

It is believed that a drop of water is worth more than a sack of gold to a thirsty man. Today, March 27, 2019, SAI International Residential School observed the World Water Day. It is an annual UN Observance day that accentuates the importance of fresh water. It is celebrated annually on March 22nd around the world.

We are surrounded by water and it covers over 70 percent of the earth’s surface and makes up approximately 60 percent of the human body. SIRS held a special assembly, quiz competition and a painting competition relating to water and conservation of the same.

Students of class VII A enacted a beautiful drama to emphasize the importance of water during the assembly. The message was “waste not and use water sparingly” to promote its conservation.

The quiz competition was also related to water, which was conducted by Loreena a student of class VII.  Classes V to X participated in a conservation of water awareness painting competition on the theme water. The children unleashed their creative skills and put them on paper.
