Our Nation’s Strength

  • 20 Apr, 2018

What makes a nation’s pillars high; And its foundations strong?
What makes it mighty to defy; The foes that round it throng?
It is not gold. Its kingdoms grand; Go down in battle shock;
Its shafts are laid on sinking sand, Not on abiding rock….but
Brave men who work while others sleep, Who dare while others fly…
They build a nation’s pillars deep; And lift them to the sky.

Thus wrote American poet, philosopher and thinker William Ralph Emerson. A nation’s real strength is not wealth or power but its people. A nation can only progress or prosper if the people are good and hard working. This was the theme of the Morning Assembly at SIRS on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.
Students of Class V and VI jointly presented a skit highlighting the fact that the real strength of a nation is its people and nation comes first and self comes last. The students beautifully showcased how our Nation can be strengthened through courage, sacrifice and hard work. They gave the message that we need to salute the courageous people of our Nation who risk their life to save the country from enemies.
The talented students were highly appreciated by everyone. During the Assembly, Headmaster Shri Amitabh Agnihotri urged the students to cultivate a positive approach towards life and emphasized on the importance of hard work and courage in order to achieve the desired result.
