Youth Voices Amplified: SAIoneers Participate in Palmer Trinity School’s Global Dialogue on Teen Mental Wellness

SAIoneers actively engaged in the RS Zoom Postcard, titled 'Mental Health in Teens,' which was hosted by Palmer Trinity School in the USA. Our participants - Nitya, Vishnu, Sagar, Nikhil, and Pratham - contributed to this crucial discussion on 31 January 2024. The event drew in 209 participants from 14 countries, including Australia, Canada, China, Colombia, Germany, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Pakistan, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, the UK, and the UAE. Together, the global community delved into the theme of "Why should schools promote mental wellbeing?"

The session commenced with an informative presentation by the hosts, Palmer Trinity School, who later organized breakout rooms for more focused discussions. The subsequent set of presentations and Baraza discussions centered around the profound impact of promoting mental health awareness within educational institutions. The call concluded with insights from keynote speaker Dionne Delgado, a social and mental health worker, and the Senior Programme Specialist at Glasswing International, a Non-Profit organization dedicated to empowering youth and communities. Delgado shared invaluable knowledge on stress and stress management.

The success of the session can be credited to the efficient organization by student hosts Brynne, Melani, Sofia R., and Sofia B., along with their teacher Danny Reynalds from PTS. Their efforts ensured an insightful and meaningful discussion for all participating students worldwide.
