SIRS RECEIVES THE INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION IN SCHOOLS (IDS)

SAI International Residential School (SIRS) received the prestigious International Dimension in Schools (IDS) conferred by the British Council, in the Virtual IDS, Annual Certification Ceremony on Friday, January 22, 2021.

The keynote speech was given by John Rolfe, School Outreach Manager, British Council. The Director congratulated all the schools that won the IDS this year and spoke highly about the dedication of teachers and schools in bringing international dimensions to their school ethos regardless of the problems faced due to the Global Pandemic.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Rolfe said, “Educators are by far the most important people in the world and IDS is at the very heart of the British Council as it connects young people from all parts of the world”. A Panel Discussion on ‘Innovations to our IDS activities during Covid-19’.This discussion came out with wonderful ideas of how schools manage their IDS activities despite the pandemic. Five schools spoke about the way they had to adjust their international activities to complete the IDS in their school.

150 schools were felicitated in the virtual certificate distribution slot of the ceremony. Head Master, Shri. Amitabh Agnihotri and the IDS coordinators received their certificates via post in advance while their photographs were displayed on the screen.

The IDS program is an annual program that Schools implement in the school to embed International Dimension to the School ethos through various curricular and collaborative projects.

SAI International Residential School students and teachers under the stewardship of the Head Master worked for a whole year on pre planned projects with International Dimensions and several projects in collaboration with our partner schools in UK, USA, Srilanka and Uganda

The function ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Anu Thampi, Head School of English Skills, British Council, South India.

Head Master Shri Agnihotri was happy to receive the IDS accreditation from British Council and thanked them for bestowing this prestigious award and said, “The pandemic has not been a hindrance in conducting international activities at SAI International Residential School, infact the world seemed closer with the virtual events conducted all through the 10 months“.

Founder and Mentor, SAI International Education Group, Dr Bijaya Kumar Sahoo congratulated the team SIRS for the prestigious IDS accreditation at SIRS for the first time.
