As active participants in the 16th Global Youth Peace Fest (GYPF2023) held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, SAIoneers embarked on another impactful project, in preparation for the forthcoming 1st Asian SDG Challenger Trophy. Students from both SAI International School (SIS) and SAI International Residential School (SIRS) paid a meaningful visit to Utkalmani Old Age Home on August 28, 2023. Here, they conducted a yoga session specially designed for the elderly residents. This heartwarming interaction not only involved guiding the elderly through suitable yoga exercises and asanas tailored to their specific health needs but also forged strong connections between the students and the senior citizens.
This collaborative endeavor sought to improve the well-being and overall health of the elderly, aligning perfectly with the Sustainable Development Goals. It aimed to promote physical and mental wellness among the elderly residents while nurturing empathy and compassion among the participating students.
